Inspections

residential inspection

Effective September 20, 2009: You must submit your inspection request by 10 p.m. the day before the requested inspection.

You can request an inspection online or by telephone using the IVR inspection request system.

When using the inspection request system you have the option of leaving a short message for your inspector, for example, the location of your on-site permit.

Due to the recent reduction in field inspectors some changes have been made regarding scheduling inspections.

  • Staff will no longer schedule same-day inspections over the phone.
  • Inspection routes for the day are not ready until after 9:00 a.m., please wait until after this time to contact your inspector for an approximate inspection time.
  • A contact name and phone number must be provided in the event we need to contact you about re-scheduling your inspection.
  • While we will attempt to do all requested inspections for a particular day, sometimes that is not possible. Please keep this in mind when planning your inspections.
