Vancouver, WA –
Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey is creating a Voting Systems Advisory Committee. Members of this committee will have the opportunity to learn about the county’s plans to purchase a new voting system, attend presentations by voting system vendors and to provide input prior to the purchase of a new voting system.
In addition to Auditor Greg Kimsey and Elections Director Tim Likness membership of the committee will consist of up to nine people. Three people will be referred for possible membership on the committee by the Republican and Democratic Parties (six people in total) and three members from the general public.
Following an initial orientation meeting the committee will meet on a schedule to be determined. In order to accommodate the voting system vendors it is most likely that the meetings will be held during weekdays between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm. The meetings will be open to the public.
Clark County citizens who would like to represent their political party on this committee should contact their political party’s Chairperson. Citizens who would like to represent the general public on this committee should submit a letter of interest to Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey. Letters can be mailed to him at PO Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000, or via
e-mail to greg.kimsey@clark.wa.gov and must be received before 5:00PM, Friday, March 11, 2005.
