It's Fair Time! Visit Environmental Services for a River Ramble!
Want to go to a fair exhibit that is educational and fun and doesn’t cost anything? Look no further than the River Ramble, a group of environmental education booths located in commercial building #3 across the fairway and just west of the Expo Hall.
Come learn about composting, recycling, native plants, invasive weed control, and other earth friendly things you can do to improve your yard, property, and neighborhood.
Be sure to visit with the Watershed Stewards and learn about pervious pavers, green roofs, and rain barrels. And while you're there, don't forget to vote for your favorite rain barrel painted by local high school students!
New stormwater needs assessment reports available
Six new stormwater needs assessment reports are now available online. The reports are products of the Stormwater Needs Assessment Program (SNAP), a five-year effort begun in 2007 to assess and describe stream and storm drainage conditions in Clark County.
Work in 2009 focused on Salmon Creek southwest and east of Battle Ground, including tributaries Morgan Creek, Woodin Creek, and Rock Creek; Lower Salmon Creek in the Lakeshore area; Flume Creek watershed south of Ridgefield; and middle and upper Burnt Bridge Creek in the Orchards area.
