Intake staff monitor youth on pretrial release, prepare pre-sentence and decline reports, complete risk assessments, make recommendations to the court, facilitate transfer of cases between Clark County Juvenile Court and other jurisdictions, and provide information and referral to victims, the community and other state and local agencies.

Intake also provides screening of misdemeanor cases, which are referred to the department by law enforcement agencies. Intake staff prosecute, refer to diversion, and/or send these cases to Victim Offender Meetings for resolution.
