The Clark County Legacy Lands Program and Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation are developing a master plan for Camp Lewisville (previously known as Camp Julianna). The goal of this master planning process is to identify reuse opportunities for this property that will enhance the county’s existing regional park and open space system.

What is a master plan?
A master plan identifies a preferred mix of recreation uses and facilities that can be included on a park property. The county must complete a master plan before development can begin. The county usually develops the park features included in the plan over time when funding and partnership opportunities are available.
Planning goals
- Respect the integrity of natural resource values.
- Re-establish a special use/facility function under public land ownership.
- Preserve the site as a supporting piece in the East Fork Lewis River Greenway.
- Compliment uses, facilities and programs in Lewisville Regional Park.
How can I get involved?
The county is currently interviewing organized groups that may be seeking day or overnight camping, recreational, educational or training space. These interviews will help staff determine whether some form or day or overnight camping would be part of the reuse plan. The draft plans for this site will be available for public review and input online and at an open house in late fall or early winter 2009.

Planning area
The 119-acre Camp Lewisville property is located on the south side of the East Fork Lewis River, just north of the city of Battle Ground. It lies directly across the river from Lewisville Regional Park and is heavily forested. The site, which was previously home to the Girl Scouts’ Camp Julianna, is currently closed to the public.

History
1936 - Property bought as part of the Lewisville Regional Park acquisition.
1946-1996 - Site leased to Girl Scouts for exclusive use as Camp Julianna. Site improvements made by Girl Scouts included cabins, restrooms, shower facilities and kitchen pavilions. Girl Scouts did not renew lease in 1996.
1996 - Study concluded public campground was not feasible.
1997 and 2001 - Master plan development began, but funds were reallocated to other regional priorities.
2002 - Septic system upgraded.
2003 - Main lodge demolished due to structural problems.
2008 - 12 acres of property were acquired next to Roper Road.
2009 - Clark County began a new master planning process.
