The large square home has an imposing portico formed by a pair of two story columns supporting a pedimented gable. A wide veranda encircles the west and south sides with columns and balustrade at both first and second stories.
Charles Farrell and his wife Ursula Roffler Farrell, best known as Rose, were two of the town’s leading merchants. They purchased the Glenn Ranch General Store in 1903. Rose managed and selected merchandize for this store as well as continuing her popular millinery business from her home.
By 1928 Rose’s sister, Anna Roffler Eddy worked in the business. The store grew to include a department of women’s clothing named “The Fashionette”, later to become the Farrell and Eddy Department Store.
