The Mattison Blair House is a rare surviving remnant of the rural housing stock that dotted the countryside in this part of the county at the turn of the century. This house represents a vernacular version of the Queen Anne Style, as demonstrated by its multiple gables, broad porch, multiple textures of materials used, and shingle-sheathed gable ends.

The house is listed on the Heritage Register because it is associated with the lives of persons significant in our past. Mr. Mattison Blair came to Clark County and started homesteading near S.E. 164th Ave. in 1873. He and other members of his family have played prominent roles in Clark County and the state of Washington. Mattison operated two sawmills, had a large prune and cattle farm, and served on the school board.

  • Listed on the Clark County Heritage Register in 1999.
