Getting Help

If you or a member of your family were the victim of a crime in Clark County, we can provide assistance as your case is processed through the criminal justice system.

  • You have the right to be notified of court proceedings and hearings and to be present at those events.
  • You have the right to make a statement to the Judge about how this crime has affected your life.
  • You may request restitution from the defendant if you suffered a monetary loss as a result of this crime.
  • If you have insurance coverage, we can provide you with a form for your insurance company.
  • If you are a victim of a personal injury crime, you may be eligible for Crime Victims Compensation from the State of Washington. If so, go to their Web site www.CrimeVictims.Lni.wa.gov and choose Forms & Publications for Crime Victims. Then enter F800-042-000 for the application.
  • VINE (Washington Statewide Victim Information & Notification System allows you to leave a phone number and will automatically call you if the offender's status changes or if they are released. VINE will only notify you if the offender is in custody. Refer to their Web site www.vinelink.com to register.
