Aging Readiness Plan
Community Engagement |
|
Community involvement is important for everyone, no matter what age. Older adults' desire to remain active and give back to their communities is well-documented.
The task force identified three challenges that adults face as they age in relation to staying engaged within their communities.
- Meaningful opportunities to stay engaged
- Barriers to employment
- Lack of accessible information about engagement opportunities
To combat these challenges in our communities, the Commission on Aging will begin working on the strategies listed in Chapter 5 of the Aging Readiness Plan.

Once the commission is initiated, the group will determine which projects they will begin in 2012.
