Equestrian Plan

The Equestrian Advisory Group has developed draft documents, which are posted below. We would like your comments and input regarding these documents.

• Proposed Comprehensive Plan language for equestrian uses
• Proposed Equestrian Overlay
• Proposed Rural Equestrian Cluster development code

What's next:

The process is now moving forward to adoption as policy. There is a Planning Commission hearing scheduled for Thursday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., 6th Floor.

The Equestrian Plan was developed to identify:

• Gaps in the existing horse trail network.
• Zoning that could support equestrian-related housing developments.
• Economic development opportunities at the county fairgrounds.
• Best management practices and policies to support equestrian activities.
