Partnerships for Healthy Neighborhoods works with residents and community organizations to create neighborhood changes that improve quality of life and support the health and safety of babies and children.
Research shows that neighborhoods that provide healthy, safe, and nurturing environments for children – where families are supported and children are encouraged to learn at an early age – produce children who grow into healthy, successful adults.
Supporting community efforts in central Vancouver
Public Health identified areas in Clark County where children are more at-risk. We then interviewed neighbors and community leaders in these areas to learn about community needs and assets. On the basis of these conversations, we selected the following area of central Vancouver to focus our partnership efforts:
