Comprised of Professional Engineers acting in the capacity of construction managers and engineering technicians in the capacity of construction inspectors. During the construction phase Capital Improvement Program projects are managed by this section. The construction inspector is the "point of contact person" for all activities and communications between the contractor and the county. The inspector is responsible for ensuring contractor compliance with all contract provisions and standard specifications and oversees the daily activities throughout the life of a project. The construction engineer is responsible for negotiating and approving any changes to design requested by the contractor and preparation of pay estimates. At the close of each project this section will generate an "as built" design drawing that reflects any changes made during construction. These as built drawings are available at the County Surveyor's Office.
