Work
- Widen Northeast 99th Street, from about a block east of Northeast 117th Avenue/SR 503 to Northeast 137th Avenue, creating a center turn lane and adding bicycle lanes and sidewalks.
- Construct 27 rain gardens with vegetation and an engineered soil mix to absorb and clean stormwater from the roadway.
- Use pervious paving on sidewalks and other low-impact development techniques to reduce runoff and treat stormwater on site.
Timeline
Mid-November - August 2010, depending on weather.

- C-Tran Route 72 Orchards is avoiding the construction zone by detouring on Padden Parkway and Northeast 137th Avenue. No service or stops are available along Northeast 99th Street inside the construction zone. Access to stops along SR 503, between 99th Street and Padden Parkway, is being provided by C-Tran Route 7 Battle Ground.
- Beginning Monday, December 7, Northeast 99th Street, between 124th and 136th avenues, will be closed, except for local traffic.
Detour
Motorists can avoid the construction zone by detouring south, either on SR 503 or Northeast 137th, to Padden Parkway.

Funding
$1.9 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, $2.6 million in county road dollars.
Job creation
The project will support more than 40 private-sector construction jobs.
