The Washougal Transfer Station is located at 4020 South Grant Street in the Port of Camas/Washougal. The transfer station, owned by Columbia Resource Company, operates under contract with Clark County for solid waste disposal and recycling.
The transfer station is open to the public for garbage drop off (for a fee) on Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, both days. Recyclable materials can be dropped off at no charge from Monday through Saturday during the same time. The transfer station officially began accepting municipal waste from the cities of Camas and Washougal on February 2, 2009.
The transfer station accepts household hazardous waste on the third Saturday of every month.
This facility will reduce waste collection cost for Camas and Washougal. The station will also provide more convenient disposal options for those residents who wish to directly haul their waste or recyclables. Planning to site, design and construct this facility has been underway since the mid 1990s.
This transfer station serves as a regional collection facility. Garbage delivered here is removed by the end of each business day and shipped to a landfill for final disposal.
