Some Household Hazardous Waste is collected at curbside along with recycle materials.
Empty aerosol cans:
Remove and discard plastic caps.
Motor oil/antifreeze:
Place in an empty milk jug with a tight fitting cap. Do not mix oil and antifreeze together or with any other material.
Household batteries:
Put in resealable, clear plastic bag. Include flashlight, hearing aid and rechargeable batteries (alkaline, ni-cad and lithium). Do not set out vehicle batteries; they may be taken to a HHW collection site as listed below.
Residents may take HHW to any of the Clark County Free Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites or 2010 Mobile Collection Events (32.3 KB). Please bring the material in the original container. There is no charge for HHW brought to these sites. There is, however, a 5 gallon container restriction with a 25-gallon limit. Business generated hazardous waste is not accepted through these programs.
Businesses should visit Small Quantity Generators (SQG) or contact the Clark County Solid Waste Program at (360) 397-6118 ext. 4352 for additional information and assistance with hazardous waste issues.
In addition, a Home Collection Program is available for eligible seniors and citizens with disabilities who are unable to transport HHW to a collection site or event. You may call (360) 397-6118 ext. 4352 to see if you qualify for a free home pick up.
