Process Service
- Various court processes may be served by the Sheriff’s Office
- Deposits on fees may be required at time of receipt of papers for service
- A refund of a deposit may not apply regardless of service completion or not
- Various protective orders are served at no charge
- Call the unit for a deposit quote
· Payment options:
o Cash
o Business check payable to Clark County Sheriff
o Cashier’s check payable to Clark County Sheriff
o These are the only types of payment accepted
· Note any special service requirements in your cover letter
· Provide a daytime contact phone number in case there are problems
· Delays may be 4 weeks or longer for initial service attempts after receipt
o Call the unit for current backlog status
· Returns are forwarded to the party requesting service
· A self addressed stamped envelope and cover letter is required with documents
Writs of Restitution
· Specific documents are required upon presentation of a writ to the Sheriff:
o 4 duplicate original Writs of Restitution
o Completed Tenant Information Sheet
o Completed Request for Storage of Personal Property
o Sheriff’s Indemnity Bond in certain circumstances

Property Executions / Replevins / Attachments
· Special action directing the Sheriff to seize property or enforce an order of the court
· Most cases require a deposit on fees
· Paperwork requirements vary depending on the type of action
· Any Attachments must be cleared through the Prosecutor’s Office prior to enforcement
· Real Property sales require a specific Letter of Instruction:
o Property Tax parcel number
o Newspaper for publication
o Physical address and legal description of the property
o Redemption period
o Interest rate
o Attorney of record
o Service address of debtors
o Affidavit of insufficient personal property, if applicable
